New Homeowners:
Dawn Streitz and
Gary Holdaway
We are proud to introduce you to Dawn Streitz and Gary
Holdaway, one of the many families who benefited from the
program! Dawn and Gary are shown here in front of their
newly purchased home which represented a first class
renovation and remodeling effort by the team at GMHC.
This is a great example of what the program is all about:
enriching communities and strengthening neighborhoods by
providing revitalized affordable housing of quality to good
people like Dawn and Gary.
SUNRISE HOMEOWNERSHIP ALLIANCE UPDATE
As you recall from our last newsletter, the Sunrise Homeownership
Alliance is a collaboration between University Bank, Family
Housing Fund, Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation (GMHC),
and Dayton's Bluff Neighborhood Housing Services (DBNHS). It is a
model for how private, public, and non-profit sectors can team up
to address an important need in our community, such as affordable
housing and neighborhood revitalization.
University Bank is pleased to announce that the Alliance has
already resulted in SIX FAMILIES ACHIEVING HOME OWNERSHIP, and we
expect that number to double in the next two months.
GMHC and DBNHS operate a special contract for deed program with
financial support from University Bank and the Family Housing
Fund. The goal is to assist qualified applicants with an
opportunity to attain the dream of home ownership. Properties are
available from an existing inventory of homes which the non-
profits have already purchased and renovated. For further
information, please contact GMHC directly and ask about the
Sustainable Home Ownership Program (SHOP). The phone number is
651-793-8901.
As a depositor at University Bank, you can help support these
initiatives by electing to participate in our Socially
Responsible Deposit Fund.
